SUPPORT TREY STRONG

Trey Strong Foundation

On May 27, we honor what would have been Trey Cordie’s 27th birthday with “Choose to Move – Trey Cordie Day,” a celebration of his vibrant life and legacy. Trey was a joyful, purpose-driven soul who inspired those around him to stay active, live well, and love deeply. After his unexpected passing at 26, his mother found healing and strength through movement — walking daily until her steps grew stronger. This day invites everyone to move in Trey’s honor: walk, play, dance, or stretch — whatever brings life to your body and spirit. Proceeds from event t-shirts will benefit the Trey Strong Foundation, offering sports scholarships to local youth. Join us at the Hood County YMCA or participate from wherever you are using #ChooseToMove and #TreyStrong.

Let’s celebrate a life that inspired so many — and move for joy, purpose, and healing. Follow our page for updates and help spread the word!

The Trey Strong Foundation exists to carry forward Trey Cordie’s legacy of purpose, positivity, and movement by supporting youth sports opportunities and encouraging healthy, active living for all.

Mark your calendar for May 27 and join us for Choose to Move – Trey Cordie Day! Whether you’re walking, dancing, stretching, or playing a game, move your body in honor of Trey. Meet us at the Hood County YMCA or participate from anywhere by sharing your movement using #ChooseToMove and #TreyStrong.

A Message from Trey's Mom

On May 27, we honor my son, Trey Cordie, on what would have been his 27th (golden) birthday — and we invite the world to join us in making it “Choose to Move – Trey Cordie Day.”

Trey was a light. He inspired everyone around him to live well — to eat right, stay active, move their bodies, play a game, read a book, chase what made them feel alive. He played every sport growing up and went on to call games on the radio.

But what meant even more than the microphone were the moments at Momma’s house — when he’d come over every week to play basketball, baseball, or football with his little brother Elijah. That’s who Trey was — someone who showed up, who loved deeply, and who moved with purpose.

After Trey passed away in October at just 26, I was broken. I didn’t know how I would go on. But in my darkest moment, I heard Trey’s voice in my heart — “you’ve got to choose to move.” And I also heard the Lord speak to my heart, when we are weak, He is strong — and I leaned into that strength.

I didn’t have much energy. I couldn’t do much. So I walked — just around the building — every day, until I grew stronger and went further.

And now — I’ve become the strongest I’ve ever been. This strength came from the hardest journey I’ve ever walked. And I will commit the rest of my life to sharing Trey’s life and legacy.

On May 27, we’ll gather at the YMCA in Hood County — and we’re asking people everywhere to join us. Walk around the block. Play a game. Do yoga. Dance. Just move — for yourself, for someone you love, and in honor of Trey.

Use the hashtags #ChooseToMove and #TreyStrong and share your story.

Let’s celebrate Trey’s life and legacy by helping others. Proceeds from Choose to Move shirts will support the Trey Strong Foundation, providing sports scholarships to youth in our community.

You never know — your movement could save a life, just like Trey, and the Lord, saved mine.

Please follow this group and make your plans for May 27th!
